Wow, can you believe it is October already?!?!
Here are 3 of my 4 lace entries in our local show.
This length of lace was awarded a 1st place. I adapted the design from a Rosemary Shepherd pattern when I first started making lace to fit into a commercial frame.
This coats design took 4 months to tat, and I love it! I am considering making the design again, but continuing to make a circular table cloth for a small occassional table ... one day!
It was awarded 3rd place in the tatting section at the show. At first I was completely surprised by this - given the following piece, but after reading the judges comments, I do agree, especially as I had already said I was disappointed in that area with this piece - lesson learned!
This bookmark designed by Jon was awarded 1st place in the tatting section. I have tat it using Lizbeth thread in Shell (I think that was the name of the thread?) It was very quick to tat and I am now going to use it in my diary!

I am very pleased with my results and enjoyed 2 half days of lace demonstrating and several hours experimenting with some scrap booking tools from Creative Memories too!
Now I can focus on baby things, ATCs, 25 motif challenge and finishing my Lizbeth doily!
Hmmmm and Christmas is just around the corner!?!?
Thanks for reading this far, don't forget to say hi before you go.

Three beautiful pieces of lace... congratulations!
Those are beautiful pieces! Lovely work! No, I cannot believe it's October already!!!
Ha ha ha...my word verification says "easters"...don't know why that's so funny, but it is...maybe it's because before you know it...it'll be Easters on it's way again!
These are lovely. Love the doiley - i always have problems with large pieces.
Thanks Diane, As I love all your work, I'll take it as a real compliment!
OMG Tatting Chic - Perish the thought! I am having enough trouble dealing with October (4 birthdays!) then Christmas!
Welcome Wickedtats. Where can I find your blog please...
Large pieces are still just 1 ring or chain at a time - they just don't fit in the pocket after a while :) This was doily number 4, with my Lizbeth (5) still in progress.
Congratulations. LOVE the doily.
Hi Laura Rose,
First of all, I can't imagine where you find the time to do so much lace - bobbin and tatted - plus several other crafts - with a full-time job as a teacher! My hat is off to you!
The doily is spectacular - and so much work! When I see pieces like this, my wrists hurt looking at them! I'm confused about the "3rd place" - what was 2nd? And what were you disappointed about? Just curious! The bookmark is very attractive and nicely done. Congratulations!
I'm also curious about Tasmania! Isn't that where Errol Flynn was from? :)
Beautiful pieces,congratulations !!
Regards,
Adriana
Hi Jane, Thanks for visiting and thank you for your kind words...maybe now I can get some time to come play with some of your designs - definately on my wish list!
Hi Kathy, Unfortunately teaching is not full time - just on call still ... Grrrrr. TV time is Craft time - cannot for the life of me just sit - the bones get rattled! Also when I travel with LOML. And sometimes you just gotta make the time for sanity sake! And yes, we can lay claim to Errol Flynn - last page in Sept list and 1 in August will show you some pics from around here - great place to live!
Hi Adriana, thanks for your kind words.
Wow, I admire you for starting a large piece, and it is a very, very appealing piece!!!! :) Congrats on your awards!
Congratulations on your wins!
